Located in the historic Polk Theatre Building on Florida Avenue in downtown Lakeland, Dreamward Travel, Inc. has been making travel dreams a reality for their clients since May of 2001. Dreamward Travel is owned and operated by Maria Thomas who has over 30 years experience as a full-service travel counselor. Offering a complete range of travel products that are geared to travelers of any age; singles, couples, families, parents traveling with children, and older adults, itineraries can be customized for individual and group travelers.

About Maria

Living in such diverse places as Germany, France, Spain and Mexico, Maria recalls always being extremely interested in the travel industry. Upon graduating at the top of her class from A.C.T. Travel Academy in 1989, Maria has gone on to obtain countless certifications including, but not limited to, becoming certified through the Institute of Certified Travel Agents, and achieving the status of an Australian Destination Specialist, a Scandinavian Travel Expert, and a Holland Destination Specialist. She is an Accredited Cruise Counselor, a Master Cruise Counselor, and is working on her Elite Cruise Counselor certificate. Maria has also taught the travel agent course at the Pasco-Hernando Community College, Spring Hill campus. Maria is an active member of the Greater Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Women Business Owners, Suncoast Travel Industry Association, and the Institute of Certified Travel Agents.

While focusing on her career and educational opportunities, Maria has found time not only to travel to Alaska, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the Netherlands, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, but has also been involved in the community as a volunteer in the Big Sisters Program and as volunteer at the Polk Theatre.
